Dr. Roland’s exclusive procedure establishes a healthy balance across the whole body. The head, spine, jaw and airway are non-invasively realigned and remodeled to restore long term TMJ comfort and proper breathing.
TMJ Disorder is a common condition in which a misaligned bite causes improper jaw alignment, potentially leading to a number of physical or physiological symptoms in the head and body.
While pain may be a common manifestation of TMJ dysfunction, many of the other signs and symptoms may be less apparent. You may be unaware of the destruction that is happening with your jaw joints, teeth, and spine. As you age, your ability to cope with this damage may be diminished and the outcome of treatment can be compromised. Early diagnosis and treatment is the key to better success in addressing TMJ misalignment.
Annapolis dentist Yasaman S. Roland, DDS uses the latest techniques to treat your symptoms without drugs by gently realigning the muscles and nerves associated with your TMJ.

Dr. Roland is an EXCELLENT dentist! I'm a senior with age related gum recission. Dr. R told me I was a good candidate for Exosome therapy - something I had never even heard of before. She sent me some articles about it and we tried a treatment - easy and painless. I am so amazed and pleased with the regenerated gum tissue results in a few short weeks and continued improvement months later. I'm thankful and impressed that Dr. Roland is so informed about new dental therapy procedures and skillful in its application.Posted on Google![]()

TMJ Disorder Treatment
As opposed to simply treating the symptoms of TMD, Dr. Roland works to address the underlying cause of improper TMJ function and reduce or eliminate undue stress on these delicate joints. This approach is designed to consider your overall wellness and ensure all of your oral structures are working as intended.
While treatment will be unique to each patient according to their unique symptoms and oral anatomy, Dr. Roland’s technique may involve realigning or remodeling the bones of the jaw so that the associated muscles and nerves are in the proper position. She may recommend wearing a custom oral appliance to help with this process. Working from the exterior structure inward, further treatment to reconstruct or reorient the teeth may be pursued to achieve a healthy bite.
These measures are taken with the goal of alleviating, and preventing the return of, painful symptoms. Dr. Roland will thoroughly explain the details of your unique treatment plan at the time of consultation.
Migraine Pain Relief
Migraine headaches are often a common symptom of temporomandibular disorder (TMD). When the teeth don’t fit together properly, the muscles of the head and neck—along with the joints that hold your jaw—must compensate. They will work harder and go into spasm.
Medication can be prescribed to mask the pain of a migraine; however, this is just a temporary solution to control the symptom rather than treating the cause of the problem. We can help determine if a link exists between the function of your jaw joints and your migraine headaches.

Her head was naturally tilted with slanted features. Her TMJ issues were resolved, and her features are now well balanced!
Notice how the lower 1/3 of her face was pulled in and is now better balanced.
Her facial features were tilted. Now they are more balanced. Note how her mouth was more “pushed in” before and is now more defined and balanced.
Before & After Transformation
In the before image, the face shows noticeable asymmetry with a slight rightward head tilt and rotation, the right ear tucked inward and the left ear angled out, an off-center nose, a chin tilted left, and lips on the right side appearing thinner and sloping downward; a horizontal reference line also shows the eyes and ears are uneven. In the after image, the head is more upright, the facial features appear balanced and symmetrical, the eyes and ears are more level, and the middle and lower thirds of the face look fuller and better defined.
