Wholistic Dentistry: Integrating Oral Health with Overall Wellness

woman after wholistic dentistry appointment

Wholistic Dentistry is different from traditional dental practices in that it factors the whole body into the treatment plan. It looks at your alignment, tissues, and focuses on longevity and finding the core problem, rather than traditional dentistry, which often mainly focuses on the mouth and the areas directly impacting it. The goal is to create a well-balanced body and improve function by alignment, technique, treatments, and even fuel.

Key Benefits

  • Root‑Cause Focus – Treat the source, not just the symptom.
  • Breath & Posture – Neck and Jaw alignment supports the airway and spine, which impact everyday life, breathing, and dental health
  • Patient Education – Empowers long‑term wellness.

Our Holistic Solutions

Exams include CBCT airway scans, posture photos, and nutrition history. Treatment may span orthodontics, TMJ therapy, and even dietary counseling, and is typically minimally invasive. Remember, the oral cavity is the gateway to the rest of the body, and it will affect how the rest of the body functions.

FAQs

  • Is wholistic dentistry safe? Yes—wholistic dentistry is not only safe but often gentler on the body than conventional approaches. It relies on evidence-based diagnostics, biocompatible materials (BPA-free composites, fluoride-free polishes, metal-free ceramics), and minimally invasive techniques designed to preserve natural tooth structure and safeguard systemic health. By emphasizing airway assessment, posture, nutrition, and toxin-reduced restorations, wholistic care reduces risks of allergic reactions, chronic inflammation, and over-treatment while still adhering to the same rigorous clinical standards required of all licensed dental practices. In short, you receive scientifically sound dentistry that protects both your smile and your overall well-being.
  • Does insurance apply? Traditional dental insurance is built around procedure-based, conventional care—cleanings, fillings, and extractions—so it often excludes the preventive, whole-body diagnostics and non-invasive orthopedic therapies offered at a wholistic practice. Because these services fall outside standard CDT codes, coverage is minimal or out-of-network; however, we make reimbursement easy by providing a detailed bill with all applicable codes, clinical notes, and images

I always walk away from my dental visit with optimism, no matter the circumstance or complications involved. I appreciate Dr. Rowlands methodical and patient approach to a long term complicated dental 'restructuring'. And thanks to DD for her support and expert handling of my situation, adding a bit of needed humor as well!

Dr. Roland is an EXCELLENT dentist! I'm a senior with age related gum recission. Dr. R told me I was a good candidate for Exosome therapy - something I had never even heard of before. She sent me some articles about it and we tried a treatment - easy and painless. I am so amazed and pleased with the regenerated gum tissue results in a few short weeks and continued improvement months later. I'm thankful and impressed that Dr. Roland is so informed about new dental therapy procedures and skillful in its application.

Awesome experience: cutting edge, and at the same time the personal experience of an "old fashioned" dentist.
